The one thing you did not mention was how you got air out of the model itself. I think you're right about the amount of glitter-- but experimenting seems time consuming! I was satisfied with the empty snow globe idea... but this is really spectacular. Next one should have lights around the bottom!

You're a brave UA-camr, working with a cat. The Cat Modeling Channel... You had not mentioned that you were going to immerse this guy in water. Is the figure watertight? I would'a thought you'd blue tint the interior... Well, I can't wait to see how the bubbles do.

Snowglobes, that is a great idea for dio's :) You do have to think about what paints and glues to use that can withstand the water.

I like big robots as much as the next fellow-- but all the made-up naming takes away for me. Plus those giant, over-sized vanes and spiky shapes just don't seem to have anything to do with something mission oriented. I dunno-- maybe it's me...

What about doing ceiling tile dioramas for the Ark like you used to do for your hobby shop? You can attach them to the plywood ceiling, and I think they make them smaller sizes.

I can't recall what got me watching something about a big aircraft carrier. It was all about just how big and crazy it was. There were regular franchises aboard-- like McDonalds and TacoBell. And Starbucks. The images you found would tell me pretty much anything goes as far as design. Nothing in the Starbuck manual about building a counter on a Naval vessel. I say, to scratchbuild the facade. But I would seek out that coffee time thingie and just use the props. A great big ship logo on the floor? Those Navy boys and girls are pretty crazy-- easy to imagine getting a vinyl sign or just paint it right there. Really cool build-- quite inspired.

I used to collect toys and action figures (400+ MOC / MIB TMNT figures) but stopped to concentrate on models kits. A collection is only a collection while your still collecting - ONCE YOU STOP IT'S JUST STUFF!

I have many hobbies, Model kits, Painting, Drawing and sculpting are the main ones, but I would have to say the most expensive of all of them, is the wife !

@Bradhair Where did you find this awesome rarity? I’m hoping to find or construct one for myself. The only War of the Worlds machine that exists that I know of hit the auction block a few months ago. It belonged to writer, publisher, and Sci-fi collector Forrest J. Ackerman (1916-2008). Size was around neighborhood of 22x19x24, half size of original from film. The former was used in another film too. Couldn’t afford it lol

Gotta admit that was a cool flying HQ. If the show had stayed with the MCU or handcuffed to movie release schedules and character insertions-- oh, baby, that's DEI City--! And you know what happened to Marvel/DC movies and streamers... As I see it, they were decoupled from the MCU and had set up so many doofy storylines that when given free reign, blammo! Bad writing did them in.

This is the Aliens Version of the Narcissus. It's a way different to the original in so many, many ways. This is not the Martin Bower Template. The details on this model are not accurate to to the Martin Bower Original and his subsequent rebuilds for himself and clients. In fact it is Martin who graciously helped me to realize the current project Narcissus of my own that is half scale but no less complicated to bring to fruition. I have a comprehensive film accurate set of Decals too especially commissioned for this particular build which is entirely based on the 1979 original EEV. The Aliens Version, which in my view is not a true representation of the Shuttle was really badly cobbled together in a frantic hurry for a five minute establishing shot. There was not an awful amount of investment in the build or detailing it accurately!? This version is not even correct in it's symmetrical outlay and the greebly applications are sooooo far down the rabbit hole to such an extent that reproduction kits are totally incoherent and woefully bad! It is the 1979 Ron Cobb Martin Bower Collaboration for me all the way to the core!
